MOBILE MEDICAL CENTER
EFAAFS has the ability to set up three staffed independent First-Aid Stations at any event, with our Mobile Medical Centre as the primary first-aid facility, and our First Aid Station - Gazebos as secondary First-Aid Stations. Or we can setup one large Medical Centre using the Mobile Medical Centre and Gazebos allowing for the treatment of up to six stretcher patients and 10 sitting patients.

Mobile Medical Centre (MMC)
More of a medical centre on wheels, our purpose-built 8.2m caravan is a 'one of a kind' medical facility designed following an extensive review of our event requirements over two years.
MMC is our primary First-Aid Station provided at all events and is fully self-contained, requiring no external power or other facilities to operate. Our MMC includes a purpose-built resuscitation room for two stretcher patients and a separate minor treatment room for two sitting patients. Toilet facilities are also available for patients. Additionally, a separate kitchen & lounge area for staff allows for the preparation and provision of hot drinks and food for patients. The MMC complies with the Victorian Government's WorkSafe ‘Code Of Practice’ for First-Aid Room / Facility.
The MMC is able to treat four patients simultaneously in a climate-controlled environment. Each of the four patient stations comes with a portable electronic patient monitoring device allowing for ECG, Blood Pressure, Pulse, Temperature and SPO2 monitoring whilst in the MMC or when being transferred. Other standard equipment in this unique facility includes, 12 Lead ECG monitoring for cardiac patients, a range of advanced resuscitation equipment, and a range of medications including pain relief (Entonox and Penthrane).

WorkSafe ‘Code Of Practice’ for a First-Aid Room

The Worksafe ‘Code Of Practice' has a list of requirements that a First-Aid Room/Facility should comply with. Our Mobile Medical Centre (MMC) meets and exceeds these requirements. An ambulance alone (or the ‘boot of a car’ as some Providers utilise), fails to comply with WorkSafe’s ‘Code Of Practice’.
EFAAFS, unlike many other Event Providers, has chosen to comply with Worksafe’s ‘Code Of Practice’ regarding First-Aid Rooms/Facilities. Therefore, in-line with the 'Code Of Practice', EFAAFS does not use or consider any ambulance as a First-Aid Room/Facility at any event.
WorkSafe’s guidelines for what a First-Aid Room/Facility is, and what it should contain are lengthy. To comply, a First-Aid Room/Facility should be a stationary structure, easily identifiable to the public, equipped with a list of recommended items, and always available in the same place throughout an event. Our LAV ambulance, like all other ambulances, does not comply with the Code of Practice. An ambulance's primary purpose is to respond to patients who are unwell or injured, and when necessary, transport those patients to or between medical facilities at an event. There can be nothing worse at an event for an Ambulance inappropriately operating as the First-Aid Station/Facility, to then suddenly pack up and relocate to a new location to treat a patient, especially if another patient is already in the Ambulance; or if a member of the public needing medical care, arrives at where the First-Aid Station was 10 minutes ago, only to find it has now gone and no first-aid facility is available to that patient, potentially putting lives at risk. These issues do not happen with EFAAFS and our facilities.
